The basic product for the construction of this type of kiln is fireproof insulating bricks with a temperature resistance of up to 1650°C. They are very strong, yet lightweight. They have a porous structure and are often used in forges or annealing furnaces. The construction of a glass smelting furnace requires the use of various finishing materials, including refractory concrete, which is also suitable for boiler linings. It is used in areas exposed to open flames, such as the interior of ceramic or glass firing furnaces, among others.
Art glass furnace - robust and durable construction
The creation of a device such as an art glass furnace requires the use of appropriately selected building materials. Glass achieves its plasticity already at 820°C, but its processing requires a much higher temperature, i.e. about 1100 - 1200°C. The materials from the Vitcas range have the right parameters and are ideal for the installation of an art glass furnace. The construction of a glass melting furnace requires, among other things, the use of ceramic insulation mats, a suitable ceramic fibre insulation mat, refractory mortar and concrete, as well as an adhesive joining the individual modules together. The shop also offers Vitcas CFR hardener, which is a silicon-based compound for coating the surface of ceramic fibre materials.
